Program Director

Jennifer Park, MD is President and CEO of Park Psychiatry, Inc.  She is a board-certified adult psychiatrist who received a BS in Biology and Brain and Cognitive Science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an MD from the University of Vermont Larner College of Medicine.  As a medical student, she was awarded the Rock Sleyster Memorial Scholarship for Clinical Excellence in Psychiatry (American Medical Association) and the Sweetser Prize in Psychiatry from the College of Medicine.

Dr. Park completed adult psychiatry specialty training at Harvard Medical School.  While at Harvard, she was the recipient of numerous prizes and awards, including the National Resident Award from the American Association for Emergency Psychiatry for her work as Chief Resident, Janssen Research Scholarship on Severe Mental Illness, Joyce and Richard Tedlow Award for Integration of Biological and Psychodynamic Psychiatry, American Medical Association Leadership award, 9/11 Scholarship from the American Group Psychotherapy Association, and the Kempf Award for research and mentorship in chronic mental illness (with Dr. Don J. Goff) from the American Psychiatric Institute for Research and Education.

Dr. Park’s experience includes managing crisis situations as Medical Director of the Acute Psychiatric Service at Massachusetts General Hospital, conducting research on suicide and chronic mental illness beginning in young adulthood at the Freedom Trail Community Mental Health Center in Boston, and working with young adults who experienced the trauma of war with the US Army.  She has lectured nationally and internationally on mental health services and suicide assessment and has published papers and textbook chapters in these areas.  She has continued to serve the MIT community by supporting the admissions process for prospective students and providing mentorship to current students through the MIT Biomatrix program and the Student Externship program.

Throughout her career, Dr. Park has been intensely interested in working with young adults in the successful transition to college and promoting independence and self-actualization.  Her philosophy focuses on developing skills through individual and group psychotherapeutic techniques supported by life management training, positive health practices, and medication support.  Dr. Park has focused her career on bringing the highest quality mental health and wellness care to young adults.
